Neil Armstrong thought he had a 50/50 chance of making it back to Earth!

Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut and the first person to walk on the Moon. He was also an aerospace engineer, naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor.

Before becoming an astronaut, Armstrong was an officer in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War.

Despite of being a brave man, Armstrong knew that anything could happen on the very first trip to the moon. Armstrong thought his prospects were only 50-50 of making it back to Earth.

And so did Collins, the pilot of Columbia and one of the world's most experienced aviators.

Despite of this prediction, he was able to make back alive and lived a happy and perfectly common life afterwards.
