Creativity : Notebook

crafty puzzles daily brain teaser

Get a good notebook and start writing down all of your ideas. A written record serves two purposes. It guarantees that the idea cannot be lost, and it gives you a way to come up with new ideas via the technique of elaborating on old ideas.

Any interesting idea that you have or you hear about should be recorded in your notebook. If you can, try to organize your notes by topic. You could use notecards and file them in appropriate categories. You could use your PDA or computer to keep notes, or you could designate different notebooks or different sections for different topics. If the idea comes from a source, indicate the source in your notes so you can go back and get more information if necessary.

Don’t worry about wasting paper or writing too much down. Your notebooks will be a great resource to go back to when you need some interesting ideas for a current project. Thomas Edison had over 3,000 notebooks documenting his career, so you better get started!

Memory : Modal Model

Before you can permanently remember something, it must pass from your short-term memory into your long-term memory. The storage for these two types of memory is generally believed to be separated in the brain. This model of the brain is called the “Modal Model.” Evidence in support of this model includes some conditions, such as amnesia, that affect short-term and long-term memory differently.

Trippy Pulsating Color Illusion

Trippy Pulsating Color Illusion

We’ve had some pretty funky and trippy optical illusions here on Mighty Optical Illusions in the past, and I hope to add to that collection today. This green and pink pulsating color illusion was enough to completely mesmerize me for a few moments this morning…

Trippy Pulsating Color Illusion

You’d swear this was a moving image, wouldn’t you? Like a moving GIF or video? But, it’s not! This pulsating color illusion just seems like it’s moving.

In fact, the bright pink and green in this pulsating color illusion just seem to be out of control, at least to me! The entire image seems to move when you’re looking straight at it and when you’re looking at it from the corner of your eye. For some really crazy movement, move your eyes slowly over the image. Don’t stare at it for too long, though, or you might start to feel a bit queasy…

If this pulsating color illusion really got to you, you might not want to check out this colorful expanding trippy illusion!
