A couple was able to sell their house thanks to an original Bansky on their wall!

To some it is art; to others nothing more than vandalism. For those who think this is art, it could be worth a lot of money.

Banksy is a pseudonymous United Kingdom-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter.

His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.

A Bristol couple who had trouble selling their house, found out they had an original Banksy on their wall, and received twice the asking price by selling the painting with a house attached.

Memory : Active Experiences

Previously we talked about how new experiences can create new connections in your mind, which helps retain memories. Active experiences, where you are actually doing the activity, are the stimulus to create these new connections. Watching someone perform an activity is not the same thing as doing it yourself.

In particular, television is usually not a mind-enriching experience. When you watch someone doing something interesting, only your senses of sight and hearing are involved. When you are actually doing the activity, all of your senses are involved. Additionally, each additional hour of TV watched per day has been shown to increase the risk of Alzheimer's Disease. So, don't sit on the sidelines, get out there and experience!

Vocabulary : Word of the Day : Ensconce

en-sconce

verb :: Settle comfortably or comfortably.

"Judy ensconced herself in her favorite lounge chair."

Creativity : Circle Drawing Exercise

Get a piece of paper and draw a bunch of non-overlapping circles on it (20 will be a good number). Now set a timer for 2 minutes and start doodling. The goal is to use as many of the circles as you can. For example, you may turn one of the circles into an apple by drawing a stem, or you may turn two adjacent circles into a bicycle by drawing the frame. See if you can use all 20 circles in 2 minutes. It's not as easy as you think! Try to create entirely different pictures every time you try this exercise. If circles get too easy, use triangles or squares.

The actor that played Obi-wan Kenobi despised Star Wars!

Alec Guinness was the man British man that play Obi-Wan in the first three movies of Star Wars. Most of us love this science fictional story, however, the man, yes, Mr. Guinness, hated the series!

Alec Guinness, the actor who played Obi-wan Kenobi, despised star wars calling it "fairy tale rubbish." Regardless, he was one of the few cast members who believed the film would be a hit and negotiated a deal for 2% of the gross royalties paid to George Lucas. This made him a very rich man.

And it doesn’t stop there; He reportedly hated working on Star Wars so much, Guinness claims that Obi-Wan's death was his idea as a means to limit his involvement in the film. Guinness also claims to throw away all Star Wars related fan mail without even opening it.

Even if exposed, there is a way you can prevent HIV/AIDS!

Even if exposed, there is a way you can prevent HIV/AIDS!

The Human immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a lentivirus, that eventually turns into a retrovirus, that causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which progressive failure of the immune system allows life-threatening opportunistic infections and cancers to thrive.

Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. Within these bodily fluids, HIV is present as both free virus particles and virus within infected immune cells.

If you are ever exposed to the virus by having any of the fluids mentioned above transferred to you, if you go to a clinic or ER within 72 hours of exposure and take the PEP drug regimen, you can prevent infection with HIV/AIDS.

However, we highly recommend for you to stay safe at all time and be cautious.

Robert Pattinson's older sisters dressed him as a girl and introduced him as Claudia to strangers!

Robert Pattinson's older sisters dressed him as a girl and introduced him as Claudia to strangers!

The 'Twilight' star, who plays vampire Edward in the four movies, confessed he wasn't so "cool" when he was younger.

Up until he was 12, his sisters used to dress him up as a girl and introduce him as Claudia. Twelve was a real turning point for him since he moved to a mixed school, and then he decided to take control over his life and act like a man.

He also admitted to be a loner. He enjoys staying at home, watch TV and eat a lot of fast food. Pretty much what we all love to do!

Luckily for most girls, this guy didn’t stay as Claudia Pattinson, he might’ve end up being Bella in the movie instead of Edward in that case.

Dolphins and Orcas only sleep with half their brain!

Dolphins and Orcas only sleep with half their brain!

Like dolphins, killer whales are voluntary breathers, meaning their breathing is not automatic like it is for humans.

Instead, they must consciously rise to the surface and breathe. This makes sleeping for them much different than it is for other animals.

Studies on dolphins and beluga whales have shown that they sleep by shutting down only one hemisphere of the brain at a time, thereby allowing them to both rest and have control over their breathing. It is thought that killer whales, being closely related to dolphins, do the same thing.

Studies indicate that during a killer whale's first few months of life, neither the calf nor the mother sleeps at all. Once the calf becomes an adult and can fully breathe by it's own, it’s when they get their good night sleep.
