Bowhead whales may be the world’s longest lived mammal. In 2007, a 15m (49ft) specimen was discovered with the head of a harpoon embedded in its neck. The 3.5-inch (89 mm) projectile was manufactured in New Bedford, Massachusetts around 1890, suggesting the animal survived a hunt a century ago.

A researcher in the 1970s blindfolded participants and told them they were going to play tug-of-war against another team. When they were told they had 3 others pulling with them, they pulled 18% less strenuously than when they were told they were alone. The effect is now known as social loafing.

Ew! Chewing Gum Shoe Illusion

f0e64a711b4d717e7ef335ec34533338

Don’t you hate stepping in gum! It gets all stuck to your she and streeeeetches… Ew! It’s grows! In remembrance of all of the chewing gum I’ve stepped in, I have sort of a fun and interesting shoe illusion for you today!

f0e64a711b4d717e7ef335ec34533338

It looks like someone just had the misfortune of stepping in some bubble gum pink chewed gum. Oh, the poor soul! Now she has to scrape it off of her shoe! The only problem is, if she did scrape it off of her shoe, she’ll have ruined the chewing gum shoe and be out $2,240!

This chewing gum illusion is an actual shoe! Designer Kobi Levi apparently liked stepping in chewing gum so much that he took the initiative to design a chewing gum shoe. The heel looks makes it look like someone just stepped in gum and it’s stretching from the shoe to the ground. This chewing gum shoe is definitely an original and interesting design, but with the hefty price tag, I don’t think I’ll be sporting the chewing gum shoe any time soon!

So, what did you think of this chewing gum shoe? Is it something you would wear? Of course, you could always save a little money and paint your feet like shoes!
