Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. was the only general on D-day to land with the first wave of troops!

Often people say that a military General should lead his troops from the front lines, not by surveying the battle from the safety of the main camp.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr believed that his life should be just as in risk as his troops. Thus, he stormed the beaches on D-day with the first wave of troops, and was the only General to do so!

Furthermore, Theodore Roosevelt Jr was 56 years old when he stormed the beaches! He is recorded as being the oldest man in the invasion. He is also the only man to serve in the D-day invasion with his son!

His son, Captain Quentin Roosevelt II led his troops at Omaha beach, while Theodore Roosvelt Jr led his troops at Utah beach! Both men survived the D-day invasion, but both died within 4 years after storming the beaches of Normandy.

Creativity : To-do Lists

Many people have a to-do list to keep track of tasks that they might otherwise forget to do. This organization is a great way to help remember everything that you need to do. Having a to-do list can also help you plan your work ahead of time. As we have learned, a little planning can greatly improve your motivation and productivity.

A pen and paper is all you really need for a task list, but many people prefer using their PDA because it can keep track of important information such as due-dates and priorities. The problem with PDAs is that they have tiny screens are often difficult to use.

A web-based task list is the best of both worlds. It's easy to use and is accessible from anywhere, even from your cellphone! Toodledo.com is probably the most fully functional web-based task manager out there. Give it a try (it's free).

Memory : Neurotrophins

Neurotrophins are small proteins that are naturally produced in the brain and act like mental nutrients. A constant level of neurotrophins are required just to keep the neurons alive. Neurotrophins are also responsible for pruning out unwanted cells and for stimulating the growth of new dendrites.

Stimulating your mind with new and interesting experiences causes it to increase the production of neurotrophins, which in turn increase the strength and complexity of the dendrites. It causes neurons to connect to different areas of the brain and form new patterns. The more connections you have, the more ways you have to remember a piece of information.

So, seeking out novel experiences is a great way to keep your mind in shape.

All mountains on Titan must be named after mountains in Lord of the Rings!

All mountains on Titan must be named after mountains in Lord of the Rings!

Titan is the largest moon of Saturn. It is the only natural satellite known to have a dense atmosphere, and the only object other than Earth for which clear evidence of stable bodies of surface liquid has been found.

Doom Mons is the name of a mountain range and it's eponymous peak on Titan. Doom Mons is the largest mountain range on Titan by volume, and it's peak possibly the highest.

Doom Mons is named after Mount Doom, a volcano that appears in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional world of Middle-earth, most prominently in The Lord of the Rings.

The name follows a convention by the IAU Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature that Titanian mountains are named after mountains in Tolkien's works.

After mortgages, student loans are the largest source of debt in the US!

After mortgages, student loans are the largest source of debt in the US!

Student debt is a form of debt that is owed by an attending, withdrawn or graduated student to a lending institution.

The lending is often of a student loan, but debts may be owed to the school if the student has dropped classes and withdrawn from the school.

Withdrawing from a school, especially if a low- or no-income student has withdrawn with a failing grade, could deprive the student of the ability of further attendance by disqualifying the student of necessary financial aid.

Student loans also differ in many countries in the strict laws regulating renegotiating and bankruptcy. Due payments may be a retroactive penalty for services rendered by the school to the individual, including room and board.

Student loan debt is the largest form of consumer debt outside mortgages, and it now stands at 1.1 Trillion.
