Folding Cribbage Boards

My friends and I play cribbage every day at lunch during the week while we are in Physical Therapy Graduate School. We also play on the weekends when we can as well. When my one friend bought a cheap, Chinese made board with plastic pegs and paper cards…I knew something had to be done. My other friend didn’t own a board of any sort. So after finishing my first board, I had plenty of ideas for improvements.

Before leaving for Christmas break, I asked their wives if they would finance this little project and both agreed. So I built two boards for them and delivered them as Christmas presents. I am looking forward to playing my first games on these boards!

Thanks to dannelson for the acryllic template he created to ensure great hole placement.

I made the boards hinged due to the shear size of the template, so as to make it more feasible for traveling, I used the SOSS barrel hinges for a clean look.

Woodworking Shows

Did anyone go to the Baltimore show? Was it any better than the shows in past years? Since there is no Dallas show this season, I guess I will drive to Kansas City from here in America’s crossroad, OKC. Last year’s Dallas show was pretty dismal, but TWWS is the only game in town here in the “Great Midwaste” or “Flyover Country” as we are unaffectionately called on both the left and right coasts. Someone on LJs said the show has a new owner? Anyone confirm or deny that with any background or other info? I long for TWWS of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I guess attendance has been falling off in recent years. Hey! build a great show and they will come! Maybe

John Lennon Portrait in Coffee

via Mighty Optical Illusions http://www.moillusions.com/2013/01/john-lennon-portrait-in-coffee.html

John Lennon Portrait in Coffee Franky stumbled upon this funny-looking portrait of Beatles member John Lennon. As you see it’s composed of nothing but a flat surface, two filled mugs of coffee, and carefully arranged coffee beans.

What do you think of it? While I was researching for a background story, I’ve stumbled upon another similar portrait (which can be found here), yet I haven’t discovered the true purpose of this photo. Was it meant for advertising, a weird tribute to John Lennon or just an art installation of some sort? If you discover the true story behind it, feel free to point it out in our comments section!
