Creativity : Other Perspectives

http://ift.tt/1DAEit1 daily brain teaser

People tend to quickly classify a situation, which causes them to think and respond in predictable ways. A creative thinker will think about situations from different perspectives. Try this group exercise to get people thinking about things in different ways.

1. Pass out three cards to everyone in the group and ask them to write down a different problem statement on each card.

2. Shuffle the cards and pass out two cards to each person, putting the remainder in the middle of the table. If anyone gets his own card or one he dislikes, he should exchange it for a new one from the pile in the middle.

3. People should now pair up and synthesize their four problem statements into one new one. Present this to the group.

4. The group should now come up with one new problem statement that incorporates the best parts of everything that has been presented.

This exercise is a good way to gain understanding of the problem and what directions the group should take to solve it.

Memory : Memory Consolidation

http://ift.tt/1DAEit1 daily brain teaser

The reason that people need to sleep remains mostly a mystery, but many scientists believe that memory consolidation is part of it. Memory consolidation is the process by which recent memories are strengthened into long term memories. It is believed that memories are stored in the hippocampus for a short time, and that they are transferred to the cortex as part of consolidation.

An important thing to take away from this is that sleep reinforces learning. If you sleep after learning some material, you will remember it better than if you did not sleep. Thus, it is not advisable to study and take an exam on the same day. If you can sleep in between, the memories will have a chance to become consolidated and you will have better recall.

Animal Illusions – It’s a Jeep Thing!

http://ift.tt/1N5NTJ6 screenshot-washingtonperry.com 2015-06-18 00-23-50

Good morning!

Today’s animal illusions are brought to you by Jeep. Well, sort of. Okay they’re not really brought to you by Jeep, per say, but they’re definitely inspired by Jeep! More specifically, these animal illusions are part of one of Jeep’s recent ad campaigns.

This awesome Jeep ad campaign features a few pretty great animal illusions, and the slogan for the Jeep ad campaign is “See whateer you want to see”. So, let’s see what we can see, shall we?

First up, we have a penguin…

Or is it a giraffe??screenshot-washingtonperry.com 2015-06-18 00-23-27

Anybody love swans? Because here’s a gorgeous swan for you!

Oooh… My bad. It might have been an elephant…

Or, if these animal aren’t your thing, maybe a cute seal will keep you intrigued…

Jeep2

This is a pretty special seal too! It can do a pretty nifty trick. It can turn into a doe…

animal illusion jeep

So, how are those for some animal illusions?

I’m not sure what I love the most about these Jeep animal illusions. The actual animal illusions themselves are amazing! They’re very well done, and it’s nearly impossible to tell that there are two separate animals hidden in each image until you see both perspective. I also love the vintage look and feel of these animal illusions.

Of course, I’m a Jeep owner…so maybe it’s just a Jeep thing…?

(Come’on—you knew that was coming!)

If you love animal illusions, head on over and see if you can find the hidden tiger!
