Here is an exercise to help you practice your visualizations.

Visualize each person that you interacted with today. Focus on each person individually and try to form a clear picture of him or her in your mind. Some things to pay attention to: hair, eyes, height, weight, age, clothing, and mannerisms. If this is your first time visualizing people, you will probably find that faces are difficult to reproduce accurately, but you will get better with practice.

Memory : Absentmindedness II

There are two types of Absentmindedness.

1. Forgetting something that you did. “Where did I put my keys?”

2. Forgetting whether you did something at all. “Did I return the book to the library?”

If you find that you frequently forget something that you did (like where you put your keys), you could try to build a habit around that activity. For example you could install a hook or place a dish near the door where you always put your keys. If you get into the habit of doing this then you will always know where your keys are.

If you often forget whether you did something, you should pay more attention to yourself as you do certain activities. One way to do this is to speak your actions out loud: “I am returning the book to the library.” Another way is to look around and notice something that you never noticed before. Maybe there is a pretty flower next to the library return slot, or maybe the handle has a rust spot on it. Noticing something about the activity will give your mind something to remember.

Creepy Floating Ghost Boat Optical Illusion

I have a pretty creepy illusion for you today!

It’s a floating ghost boat! Ooooo-OOO-OOH!

Unlike yesterday’s illusion, which I’m still wondering if it’s Photoshopped, I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that this image hasn’t been edited at all. It appears that this creepy ghost boat is floating above the water in the distance! But I still say that the image of this ghost boat isn’t Photoshopped. Why? Because there’s even a video showing this floating ghost boat hovering…

Mystery solved! This floating ghost boat is actually a mirage and caused by the way the light refracts through the air. Different temperatures cause light to bend in different ways, resulting in seeing certain things not how they really are or, in some cases, seeing things that aren’t there at all. This particular type of mirage is known as a Fata Morgana, The light is bent in such a way in these types of mirages that objects appear to be higher than they actually are. In this case, it makes the sailboat look like it’s floating.

Lady Sitting in The Woods Photo Illusion

I hope everyone’s having a great weekend! The weather is finally cooperating here, after weeks of nothing but rain, so I’m hoping we can get in a bit of hiking here today. Getting out of the house and back to nature is just so soothing, don’t you think? Sometimes you just run across a fantastic spot int he woods too, that just takes your breath away.

I found a photo the other day that reminded me of just such a spot on one of our local hiking trails, and I wanted to share it with you…

Isn’t the scenery in this photo just gorgeous? It’s such a whimsical photo with a little sideways illusion mixed in.

When you first look at the photo, it looks like the girl is sitting on a strange bench with her feet danging down. However, when you look a little closer, you might notice something a little funny, particularly about the background. That’s because this is actually a photo illusion!

The woman in this photo illusion is not sitting on anything. She’s hanging from the wall of a bridge, with knees bent and laying on top of the railing. When the image is turned sideways, it becomes a fun photo illusion making it look like she’s sitting on some sort of bench. But the sideays trees are what really gives away this photo illusion!

Unless this photo illusion is Photoshopped, the strength that this shot would have required an awful lot of strength on her part! What do you think? Photoshopped or not?
