Nahco Cheese

I’m powerful enough to clean most anything,

Yet gentle enough to eat.

I’m used to make an explosion of sorts,

Yet can be found at millions of stores worldwide.

I can kill grass,

And even tenderize your meat.

I can clean up even the smelliest stench,

and soften your fabrics.

What am I?

Check Braingle.com for the answer.

Memory : Keyword Mnemonic

daily brain teaser

The keyword-mnemonic technique is most frequently used to learn foreign word vocabulary, though it can be adapted to other purposes. This technique achieves its effectiveness by encoding information both visually and verbally. This gives you twice the number of aids for aided recall to work.

The first step is to think of an English keyword that is similar to the foreign word. For example, the French word for “fish” is “poisson” so your keyword might be “poison” because it is similar to the French word. Try to pick a noun for the keyword, because it will make the next step easier.

The second step is to visualize an association between your English keyword and the English translation of the foreign word. In this case, we would visualize an association between “fish” and “poison.” Maybe you could visualize a toxic pond with all the fish floating on the surface, or maybe you would picture someone eating some fish and then dropping over dead. The more dramatic you make your visualizion, the more effective it will be as a memory tool.

Now, if you need to remember the French word for “fish,” you will remember the visual scene and will recall the word “poison.” This will lead you to the correct word “poisson.”

This technique can also work in reverse – going from the foreign word to the English translation.

A Simple Lover’s Face Illusion

lover's face illusion

When you’re in love, sometimes things get a little confusing. After such a long time together, two people can seem to sync on a multitude of levels and almost become one. It can be hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Today’s lover’s face illusion is a great example of this…

lover's face illusion

In this lover’s face illusion, it’s a little difficult to tell who the face actually blogs to. Actually, it could be either person’s face, depending on how you look at it. The placement and shape of the eye makes it so that it could belong to either the man or the woman. Each person also has their own mouth and nose, which doubles as the other person’s ear.

Chances are, though, you probably noticed one face or the other first. Which face did you see first in this lover’s face illusion—the man’s face or the woman’s face? Can you see them both easily now?

After you’ve rated today’s lover’s face illusion, head over and see if you can spot the lovers in this illusion! It might be a little trickier than you think…
