There's a website that will tell you if someone's died in your house!

There's a website that will tell you if someone's died in your house!

For various reasons, someone dying in a house drives the property value down. Roy Condrey has created a simple solution for it: DiedInHouse.com

It took a year to build, and for $11.99, a search on the website will look through various sources to see if someone died on that address.

The site supposedly scours millions of records to come up with the answer. Realtors weren't super happy with it, because a "stigmatized property" can lose 15 - 25% of it's value. However, some have come around and conduct their own searches on it.

One of the world's largest telescopes is called LUCIFER and it's owned by The Vatican!

Although it shares the same name as Christianity’s fallen angel and the personification of evil, LUCIFER is an instrument attached to a telescope owned by The Vatican.

LUCIFER is an acronym for the instruments lengthy title, “Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research.”

This instrument is attached to the University of Arizona’s Large Binocular Telescope (LBT) located on Mt. Graham in south eastern Arizona. The Vatican-owned Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT) is right next door.

The Vatican’s astronomical department is staffed with Jesuits that expect to find every kind of beautiful object out there made by the creator.

Funny how acronyms can be formed.

A kidnapper asked Princess Anne to get out of the car and she replied with a "Not bloody likely"!

Anne, Princess Royal, is the only daughter and second child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

She is known for her charitable work, being the patron of over 200 organisations, and she carries out about 500 royal engagements and public appearances per year.

She is also known for equestrian talents; she won two silver medals (1975) and one gold medal (1971) at the European Eventing Championships, and was the first member of the British Royal Family to have competed in the Olympic Games.

She is also known for her bravery; when asked by a kidnapper to get out of the car, Princess Anne replied Not bloody likely!" Before diving out of the far side.

It surely takes a lot of guts to do that!

An island in the South Pacific has a functioning underwater post office!

There is a small island nation in the South Pacific known as Vanuatu, that consists of a 82 newly formed islands.

Not only is Vanuatu know to tourists because of the tropical climate and beautiful scenery, but because they have one of the most unique placements for a postal office.

The most fascinating part about this small little post office is that if you place a letter in the mail box - your letter will actually get sent through the mail! It's someone's job to periodically check the mailbox and send off all letters placed inside of them!

Adobe Photoshop recognizes when you are trying to edit a picture of currency, and prevents you from opening and printing the file!

Adobe Photoshop recognizes when you are trying to edit a picture of currency, and prevents you from opening and printing the file!

Adobe, the company in charge of making a variety of different computer software that you have most likely used in your life, has decided to help the police by stopping people from making counterfeit currency.

The latest version of Adobe Photoshop CS prevents users from opening up pictures of currency, nor can users print images of currency. The software has been programmed to recognize different forms of currency around the world!

Although this seems like a perfect idea to stop counterfeiters, many Adobe users decided to see if Photoshop truly stops them from editing images of currency. Many users found that with a little bit of tweaking, it is incredibly easy to get an image of currency into Adobe Photoshop CS!

Critics are wondering why Adobe put the feature on their latest Photoshop software if it was so easy to get around the systems program that detects currency. When asked, Kevin Connor, Adobe's director of product management for professional digital imaging said that "this just seems like the right thing to do,"

Anyone that writes a letter doubting the validity of Ripley's Believe it or Not will receive a card that says "Believe it or not!"

Ripley's Believe it or Not started off as a small comic panel, which were then made into books, and then into a TV show.

The book discusses a variety of topics, mainly ones that make you think to yourself "there is no way that this is true" just because some things that the books talk about are so bizarre. If you haven't read any of the books, you should give them a try.

Authorities at Ripley's Believe it or Not insist that they investigate everything to make sure the events they are talking about are true before they publish the information.

However, some of the information has been questioned by Snopes.com. Furthermore, two myths that were debunked by Mythbusters have also appeared in a Ripley's book!

Because of this, many people have sent letters to the company questioning the validity of the information provided in the books. The company responds by sending a card to anyone who writes them a letter by saying "Believe it or Not!"

Texas has its own dialect of German and it is close to extinction!

Texas has its own dialect of German and it is close to extinction!

When you think of the State of Texas, you think of cowboys and not German. Why doesn't anyone know that Texas has it's own dialect of German? Well, it's most likely because so few people still speak the language, even those originating from the small German community, Sattler Lake.

Children that grew up in the community that was founded around 150 years ago, weren't encouraged to speak German. They still picked up on German, but they were forced to speak English.

Hans Boas, a Texan professor of Germanic Studies predicts that the Texan dialect of German will be extinct by the year 2050. Furthermore, he believes that the culture that came along with the language will die as well!

Linguists agree that there are about 6,000 languages existing in the world today. By the end of the century, it is predicted that about 90 percent of those languages will be extinct!

As a result, linguists are frantically trying to record interviews with native speakers of dying languages so they can learn more about how the language developed, and the culture behind it!
