The goal of a Brainstorm is to come up with many different possible solutions to a problem. Be prolific! Don’t dwell on any particular thought unless you are building on it. There will be plenty of time to think about the details of each idea at a later date.
The moderator should try to maintain the energy and pace of the meeting by keeping people on track and forcing them to go on to the next idea. If someone is going into a long-winded explanation of something, the moderator should interrupt them and ask for a one-sentence summary.
Having a quota for the number of ideas you want to produce is a good motivator for the group. Try for at least 100 ideas in a half-hour brainstorm.

Studies show that where you learn something has an effect on your ability to recall the information at a later date. In particular, your ability to remember something is improved if you learn the information in the same or similar location that you will recall it. This is because the context in which you learn the material serves as a landmark for your memory.
To use this to your advantage, you should study your subject in the location where you will be expected to recall it. For example, if you are studying for a test, you could study the material in the same classroom (or similar classroom) where you are going to be tested. If you are memorizing lines for a play, you could do it in the theater where you will be performing.
If you don’t know where you will be expected to recall the information, or if you can’t replicate the environment, then you should try to study the material in a variety of different places so you don’t get tied to one particular location.
Studies also show that your body position affects your accuracy at recalling information. So, if you are going to be sitting down while taking your test, it might be a good idea to be seated when you study for it, as opposed to lying down.

You probably remember a few months back when a simple dress took the Internet by storm overnight. Almost everyone had an opinion about this color illusion—whether it was white and gold or blue and black. Some even saw it one way, then it changed to another color, seemingly like magic and sometimes right before their eyes!
That’s the beauty of a color illusion, though. You may see one color, but your mind is blown when you find out that it’s actually a different color. The brain plays tricks on you in the right conditions. Today’s illusion is a color illusion. Granted, it’s not as complex and amazing as the blue and black / white and gold dress illusion, but it’s still pretty neat. Take a look at the picture below and tell me how many different colors you see…
Chances are you saw four colors—green, white, red, and pink. But, if you remember that this is a color illusion, you probably already know that that’s not the case!
You brain is playing tricks on you! In reality, there are only three colors—green, white, and pink. The pink looks much lighter on one side because it’s surrounded by white squares and much darker, almost red, on the other side because it’s surrounded by the green squares. If you don’t believe me, that’s okay. Open this color illusion image in a photo editor and use the color picking tool to check for yourself!
