Thirty Men

Thirty men with ladies, two,

Standing around with nothing to do,

Dressed in formal, black and white,

Yet when they move it begins a fight.

Celebrity Impressions: Do They Know It's Narcissism?

2014 has seen the return of the celebrity single where celebrities get the honour of singing one line of a song each. Some might say that the only reason they do this is self-serving publicity, but I couldn't possibly comment!

We've had the BBC's version of God Only Knows to celebrate their love of music. Seriously, how can you express yourself fully by singing "I may not always love you?" For God sake Pharrell, you didn't even finish the sentence!

Band Aid 2014 are raising money for the victims of Ebola. Ed Sheeran flew back from his tour in Germany just to sing "At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade," while rockers Bastille cancelled two US arena gigs to be involved. When your chance to sing one line in a hit song arrives you clearly have to grab it, whatever the cost.

I wondered what it would be like to see some our favourite TV personalities jump on the band wagon and grab their chance to deliver their lines in their own inimitable style. What would it be like to hear Jeremy Clarkson, Alan Carr, Sir David Attenborough or Michael Mcintyre bust out some lyrics?

As a voiceover artist specialising in characters, accents and celebrity impressions, I didn't have to wait for that to happen! "I can make this happen myself" I thought! But what song? Something poignant, like a Johnny Cash ballad? Joni Mitchell? The articulate lyrics of Sting? No, sod that! I chose the Kylie Classic I Should Be So Lucky.

So here goes. This wasn't in the name of charity, none of these celebrities were paid, they did it for the love and for their own personal gain!

Hope you enjoyed my efforts! To see more videos, hear examples of my voiceover work and have a play with my soundboards, please visit my website.
