Memory : Homocysteine

daily brain teaser

Homocysteine is an amino acid that is naturally produced by the human body. Some studies have suggested that a high level of this amino acid is a major risk factor for heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

The body normally breaks homocysteine down into other amino acids for use by the body, but this process can be slowed in people with Vitamin B deficiencies. Taking a multivitamin with B6, B12 and folic acid or eating more fruits and vegetables can help lower your homocysteine levels.

Creativity : Brainstorm Rule: Encourage Wild Ideas

daily brain teaser

This Brainstorm rule goes hand in hand with the Defer Judgment rule that we talked about earlier.

Encouraging wild ideas is the opposite of passing judgment. Don’t censor your own ideas just because you think they are impractical. Even if you have an idea that is totally crazy, silly, or seemingly impossible you should still contribute it. Crazy ideas inspire people to think of unusual solutions. Silly ideas bring some humor to the meeting and help keep spirits up. And who knows, your seemingly impossible idea might have a simple fix that turns it into a stellar solution. So speak up and contribute all your wild ideas.

Funny Cat Picture and Illusion

fun cat picture illusion

Technology is advancing at an exponential rate, and these days we have the world at our fingertips! Almost anything we need to know or learn is literally only a click or tap away. The potential for learning and expanding our minds is almost limitless. It’s crazy! People have all of this information, and…we choose to use it to look at funny cat pictures and other weird things.

Well, I guess a funny cat picture or two really isn’t gonna hurt much in the long run. Some of them sure are a hoot, and a marathon meme session can be a nice stress reliever after a long hard day. Even I get sucked in by a funny cat picture from time to time. (Okay, probably more often than I’m willing to admit…)

In fact, I love this funny cat picture that was sent to the Mighty Optical Illusions Facebook page by reader Kovács.

In addition to being a cute and funny cat picture, it’s also a pretty neat photo illusion! The cat’s ear and head blend in perfectly with the guy’s head, and it’s a little hard to tell where one ends and the other begins!

Thanks again, Kovács! And if anyone else has any illusions they’d like to submit, you can send them in a message to the Mighty Optical Illusions Facebook page.

If you liked this funny cat picture, head over and check out this cat with a human reflection for another little chuckle!

Some Cuban cigar factories employed a “Lector” who would read newspapers, political treatises and classical literature aloud to help break the monotony of the cigar-rollers’ work, thus even illiterate cigar-rollers would be well-informed and familiar with great literature.
