Something absolutely insane happened to me yesterday. After the amazingly warm weather we were having it started pouring the snow yesterday and the wind started blowing really hard. This is hard for me to accept, especially after having such a nice day the day before. Oh well, I guess the snow gives us all an excuse to stay inside and check out some new optical illusions. Speaking of which, I have a pretty cool one for you all today.
The title of this post probably threw you off. You probably think that I’m going to post up some sort of 3D chalk art or 3D sketch, but that’s not the case with today’s illusion. I’m going to post an image that gives off a 3D effect if you stare at it. Give it just a little bit of time and allow your eyes to focus and you should see the fish and the hook in 3D.
Were you able to see the fish in 3D? I know some people have problems with these types of illusions, so don’t get frustrated if you can’t.
Still want another cool optical illusion to check out? I have one for you that will keep your mind sharp. Check out this Sharp Minded optical illusion.

The art piece that was finished in March 1997—17 years ago— not only still stands barely touched but can still be seen from space as clearly as the day it was finished.
The massive interlocking spirals are made of 89 cones and 89 holes, that in total required the relocation of 8000 cubic meters of sand.
Together the pieces occupy a total of 100,000 square meters or 1 million square feet in the Eastern Sahara desert.
Desert Breath was designed by the group D.AST Arteam, specifically three artist: Danae Stratou, Alexandra Stratou, & Stella Konstantinidis.
The project is meant to suggest the “experience of infinity” that comes from a desert, especially on as expansive as the Saharan Desert.
The center is filled with water up to the top and it provides the only color to the piece that is not due to the shading in and over the cones.
Located between the sea and a body of mountains at the point where the immensity of the sea meets the immensity of the desert, the work functions on two different levels in terms of viewpoint: from above as a visual image, and from the ground, walking the spiral pathway, a physical experience.
You can see the work on satellite imagery yourself & see the artist’s page.
