Why, Skid Mark, Why?

After recent events, Question Mark is annoyed with his brother, Skid Mark. Skid thought it would be funny to hide Question’s wallet. He told Question that he would get it back if he finds it. So, first off, Skid laid five colored keys in a row. One of them is a key to a room where Skid is hiding Question’s wallet. Using the clues, can you determine the order of the keys and which is the right key?

Red: This key is somewhere to the left of the key to the door.

Blue: This key is not at one of the ends.

Stress : Autogenic Relaxation

daily brain teaser

Stress can cause all sorts of problems for us in our daily lives. Not the least of which is a decreased ability to think productively and creatively. Autogenic relaxation works by influencing the autonomic nervous system through self-suggestion. The goal is to learn how to relax your limbs, heart and breathing.

Start by sitting in a comfortable position in a quiet place. Concentrate on your legs and arms. Feel them getting heavy. Repeat to yourself over and over, “My arms are getting heavy. My legs are getting heavy.”

Now feel your arms and legs getting warmer. Repeat to yourself, “My arms are getting warm. My legs are getting warm.” Try to really feel them getting warmer.

Now, concentrate on your pulse. Feel it beating calmly. Repeat to yourself over and over, “My heart rate is calm and regular.”

Now, focus on your breathing. Take deep and regular breaths. Repeat, “My breathing is calm and regular.”

Focus on your abdomen and feel it getting warmer. Repeat, “My abdomen is feeling warmer.”

Lastly, pay attention to your forehead. Feel it getting cooler. Repeat to yourself, “My forehead is pleasantly cool.”

Repeat as many times as you desire. A feeling of peacefulness and relaxation should come over you as you progress through this exercise.

Memory : Parkinson’s Disease

daily brain teaser

Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease that is caused by the loss of neurons in the part of the brain that produces dopamine. Dopamine is a chemical that helps coordinate muscle movement and memory formation. In addition to the muscle tremors that most people associate with Parkinson’s disease, visual memory is often affected as well. Depression, dementia and general memory loss can also occur in patients with the disease.

The cause of Parkinson’s disease is not entirely understood, but the prevalent theory is that genetic factors combined with certain toxins can be a trigger. Studies have found that people exposed to pesticides and other agricultural chemicals have a higher risk of developing the disease. Head trauma can also play a small roll.

Find the Hidden Horse Rider Optical Illusion

hidden horse rider illusion 1

Monday morning – rise and shine! It’s the start of a new work week for many of us, so it’s time to shake off the weekend and and put our noses to the grindstone again. I figured that a clever little puzzle illusion would (hopefully) help get your brain working again this morning.

So, let’s jump right to it, shall we? Can you see the hidden horse rider in this puzzling optical illusion?

Don’t scroll down just yet, or you’ll see the solution early!

This is definitely a clever little drawing! I’m not entirely sure where this hidden horse rider came from originally, but I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of vintage card. At one point in time, optical illusions like these were rather popular. They were used as a source of amusement s well as marketing tools. While optical illusions haven’t completely disappeared from marketing, they aren’t seen as often today. Too bad too, because most people don’t exercise their brain enough these days!

Anyway, back to the hidden horse rider optical illusion…

Have you found him yet? If you don’t see it right away, don’t feel bad. It took me a few moments too. I can tell you that the hidden horse rider really isn’t where you’d expect him to be. Well, at least he isn’t where you’d want any horse rider to be!

Are you ready for a solution yet? I’ve highlighted the hidden horse rider in green below…

Apparently, this hidden rider has fallen off of his horse and and under the forelegs of his trusty steed. Definitely not the best place to be!
