Rustic End Table

I made this for my wife as part of her Christmas gift. I designed it to hold a slot machine and to match the bedroom we’ve been redecorating. She loves it so much that she didn’t want to cover it up. So we relocated the machine. The cabinet is 3/4” birch ply with a Kona colored stain and poly on the shell with 4 coats varnish on the top. Then after much sawing / milling and a bit of puzzle practice, I attached the rough stuff ( a mixture of oak, birch, and some mystery wood from the roadside).

I think it came out pretty good. I was worried about adding exterior components but in the end it came together.

Puzzle(with Sliding Lid Box) of Grandparents and Grandkids

I made this puzzle for some friends of ours. The image shows our friends, the Grandma and Grandpa, front and center in a sea of grandkids and some of their spouses.

I made the pieces of this puzzle large enough that Granny and Gramps could record the names and ages of the grandkids, and, each person’s face is on a puzzle piece of its own. They liked it so much they have already decided that I need to make a similar puzzle for some of their friends.

Take care fellow lumberjocks,

Russ
