The Willis Tower just lost the title of tallest building in the USA. This is how Chicago will fight back.

Chicago is trying to break a record that will take them some time.

The Old Chicago Main Post Office Redevelopment is a proposed 20-acre project on a lot located along the Chicago River on the southwest side of Downtown Chicago, Illinois.

It is to be constructed in phases over a period of one decade that will include the renovation of Chicago's historic Old Main Post Office building as well as residential, retail, entertainment and office space.

The plan includes several towers, the tallest one being a proposed 120-story mixed use twin tower skyscraper that will stand about 2,000 feet high to the roof, which would make it the tallest building in the United States.

The tower would be over 500 feet taller than the Sears Tower, and will contain office, residential, and hotel space. It will also include two 60-story residential towers as well as a 40-story hotel.

Can't wait to see how it ends up looking!

Who Said It? - "Cars" Version

How much do you know about the Disney animated movie, "Cars"? In this quiz, you will try to match a quote from the movie with the character who said it. Good luck!

Creativity : Imagination

A creative person must have a vivid imagination that is free to create without constraint. When you are imagining things, you do not need to be bound by the laws of physics or other rules that govern our normal lives. Set yourself free to explore what you could do under any circumstances. If you come up with a fruitful idea you might be able to modify it to work in reality.

To spark some interesting ideas you could ask yourself some "What if?" questions that break a rule. For example, you could ask yourself how you would solve the problem if you had the strength of Superman. Or, you could ask, "What if cost were not a factor?"

Another important aspect of imagination is to use all of your senses. We already know that using all of your senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) can help you make long lasting memories. Your senses can also be used to enhance creativity. If you think only verbally, then your solutions will be predominantly verbal. Try to imagine smells, sounds and textures when you are thinking about a problem.

Memory : Alzheimer's Prevention

Several recent studies have shown that mental and physical exercise throughout one's lifetime may significantly reduce the effects of Alzheimer's.

Mental exercises such as crossword puzzles, brain teasers, chess, or card games help keep the mind working in top shape. This helps build what is called a "cognitive reserve." Formal education also helps build a person's cognitive reserve. In fact, each year of education reduces a person's chances of getting Alzheimer's by an average of 17%. Scientists believe this is because people with a large cognitive reserve are better able to adapt as neurons are killed by the disease. The more neural connections you have, the longer it takes for the disease to make a significant impact.

It's important to note that mental exercise cannot help significantly once Alzheimer's has already set in. A person must have a lifetime commitment to learning in order to build up his or her cognitive reserve. It is probably not possible to completely prevent the disease in genetically susceptible people, but it is possible to delay the onset so that it will not occur in the person's lifetime.

Trial by combat was a method of Germanic law to settle accusations in the absence of witnesses or a confession in which two parties in dispute fought in single combat; the winner of the fight was proclaimed to be right.

In essence, it was a judicially sanctioned duel. It remained in use throughout the European Middle Ages, gradually disappearing in the course of the 16th century.

In 1818, an Englishman was accused of murder claimed the right to trial by combat. To everyone's surprise, the law granting him that right was still valid, and he was acquitted when his accuser declined to appear on the "field of honor." Trial by combat was abolished the next year after that incident.

Paul Casgoine, famously known as Gazza, is a former England international footballer. Playing as a midfielder, he began his professional career with local club Newcastle United in 1985.

After retiring from professional football, his life became dominated by his mental and emotional problems, particularly his alcoholism.

His problems have received regular coverage in the British press, especially during his various run-ins with the law in 2008-2010. He has attempted to live without alcohol on numerous occasions, though numerous rehabilitation programmes have provided only temporary relief.

He voluntarily joined the police manhunt for a gunman, by doing so, he wanted to feel useful and stay away from trouble for a while. By just bringing a fishing rod, some chicken and a six-pack of beer he was able to make the bad guy surrender, convincing the criminal, that he was his friend.

Alberta Canda successfully became free of rats. These are the keys to their success.

Alberta Canda successfully became free of rats. These are the keys to their success.

Alberta is the only province in Canada that is free of Norwegian rats. Since the early 1950s, the Government of Alberta has operated a rat-control program.

The program has been so successful that only isolated instances of wild rat sightings are reported, usually of rats arriving in the province aboard trucks or by rail.

In 2006, Alberta Agriculture reported zero findings of wild rats. The only rat interceptions have been domesticated rats that have been seized from their owners.

It is illegal for individual Albertans to own or keep Norwegian rats of any description; the animals can be kept in the province by only zoos, universities and colleges, and recognized research institutions.

In 2009, several rats were found and captured in small pockets in southern Alberta, putting Alberta's rat-free status in jeopardy.

A political party wanted to make a mockery of the system, so they elected this animal as its leader!

The Parti Rhinocéros, known as the Rhinoceros Party of Canada was a satirical federal political party in Canada from the 60s until the early 90s. They were much of an entertainment source and a kind of protestation party for voters.

In 1980 their greatest feat was 110,286 votes because the general public was so disgusted with the rest of the political parties in Canada, getting them 1.01% of the total vote. Some of it's most awarding promises were:

  • Rather than awarding money as prizes in the lottery, the winners would be appointed to the Canadian Senate.

  • Men would be allowed to work as prostitutes, wet nurses, secretaries and receptionists.

  • Instituting English, French and illiteracy as Canada's three official languages.

  • Selling the Canadian Senate at an antique auction in California.

  • Repeal the law of gravity.

  • Change Canada’s currency to bubble gum, so it could be inflated or deflated at will.

Monkeys were taught the concept of money. You won't believe what depravities they used it for!

You may have thought things like currency or money are concepts known solely to man. Some might have a sense of ownership, besides of course territory, but trading and the likes haven’t been observed in any other species besides humans.

An economist/psychologist duo from Yale back in 2005, however, managed to train seven capuchin monkeys how to use money, and I’m pretty sure from here on some of you might be able to guess what happened from there on.

Monkeys were given silver discs, which they traded for goods such as apples, grapes and many other things. When this experiment became interesting, was when the scientists noticed two monkeys having sex, once they were done, the male monkey gave the female some silver discs!

They were also thought how to gamble and committed the same mistakes humans do when gambling.
