But it turns out that part's not actually true. The name was actually a joke offered to the French explorers Marquette and Jolliet in 1673.
Based on the work of several linguists, "Moingoana" comes from the word "mooyiinkweena," which means "the poop faces."
It's thought that the name was actually given by the people of the Peoria village near the mouth of the Des Moines River.
When they were asked about neighboring villages by Marquette, the Peoria chief gave him "the poop faces" to throw him off.
What's funny is Marquette was fluent in the language. He just didn't pick up any mischief behind it.
But before you start to complain about your gas prices, just be thankful that you don't live in France. The gas prices in France are on average, $8.29 per gallon!
In countries where oil is a frequently found natural resource, gas prices are lower. This makes a lot of sense when you think about it because the country already has the gas in their possession!
This is the reason that Venezuela has the low gas price of 8 cents per gallon! The citizens are able to enjoy gas at such a low price because of the subsidies put on the resource thanks to President Hugo Chavez!
In oil rich countries, oil is seen as a natural resource that should be provided cheaply to all members of it's society because they are entitled to it!
Picking your nose and eating it may be beneficial to your immune system.
A study done by Stefan Gates stated that 44% of adults admitted to picking their nose and eating the dried mucus.
The even grosser part was they said they liked it. Gates comments that "our body has been built to consume snot," because the nasal mucus is normally swallowed after being moved inside by the motion of the cilia Mucus filters airborne contaminants.
Eating it helps our immune system become stronger and learn to fight off all those contaminants. We swallow a lot of our mucus anyways through the nasal passage down the throat.

In the movie Tron, Jeff Bridges filled out his computer outfit a little bit too much.
The bulge of his crotch was too big, and he was forced to wear a dance belt to conceal it.
A similar thing happened years later with Brandon Routh in the new Superman movie; in that case, his crotch was made smaller with computers.
