Graffiti is often seen as an annoyance in many cities. Territorial scribblings from gang members and little hooligans. What some people don’t realize, though, is that graffiti can be an art form itself. Some graffiti artists can even make a pretty decent living creating awesome art! Cities have even started to commission some graffiti artists to beautify their walls or even cover old unsightly graffiti.
I don’t have any info on the graffiti optical illusion below, so I can’t credit the artist or even the city. But, if anyone has any idea who painted this optical illusion, please leave us a comment below.
This graffiti optical illusion has so many levels to it. First, the entire piece is created with lines, which is difficult enough. The letters also have an awesome 3D effect that makes it seem like the letters are popping out of the wall. Depth in the middle of the letter is created with some clever use of painted shadows, making it appear as if there’s a cavernous hole in the middle of the wall.
Overall, I think it’s a pretty cool graffiti optical illusion and an awesome piece of art in general!
