Spazy Croonerisms
A spoonerism is a pair of words that can have their initial sounds switched to form new words. The pairs need only sound the same, not necessarily be spelled the same (power saw & sour paw, horse cart & coarse heart). There may sometimes be one or two connecting words (kick the stone & stick the cone, king of the rats & ring of the cats). Given the following definitions, what are the spoonerisms?
1) no-cost fish lures & honey shipment
2) leaping legumes & colliding dungarees
3) crustacean movement & criminal sunscreen
4) baseball term & seasonal pig

“If it were a record of a solemn scientific expedition, it would have about it that gravity, that profundity, and that impressive incomprehensibility which are so proper to works of that kind, and withal so attractive.” –Twain, Mark

Because of a lucky genetic mutation happened in the 18th century, today 38 people in a small town in northern Italy don’t suffer from cholesterol artery-clogging, making them virtually immune to heart disease and strokes. They all smoke, they eat like hell, and they don’t care.

During the cold war, when navy divers repairing a whale enclosure heard a human-like voice saying “out, out, out,” and got out of the water to see nobody, they found out that a beluga whale named “Noc” had learned to mimic human speech and was trying to communicate with them.

In 2007, a Texas man saw his neighbor’s empty house being burglarized. He told 911, “I’m not gonna let them get away with it.” After they left the house he said, “I’m gonna kill him”, and then went outside and shot both men in the back, killing them. The grand jury found it was justified.

I have a pretty creative and crazy illusion for you this morning! It took me a little bit to actually see this one, so I figured I’d share with you guys. Hopefully, you can see them before I did.
Now for the illusion. Take a look at this panel of squares and tell me how many circles you see…
This is definitely a pretty tough circle illusion! Like I said, it took me a few minutes to see them all.
I’ll give you a little hint and tell you that there are actually 16 circles in this circle illusion! Hard to believe, huh? But, when you see them, it’s really hard to unsee them. And you might kick yourself when you finally do see it.
Ready for another hint on this circle illusion? There are no raised panels.
Still can’t quite see them? The raised panels are actually an illusion in and of themselves. They’re actually created by circles with horizontal lines places over a background of vertical lines. I’ve taken the liberty of highlighting this to help you see it better…
If you scroll back up and look at the original image, this circle illusion should pop right out at you. If fact, whenever you look at this circle illusion from now on, you should see it for what it really is instead of the raised panels that they seem to be.
