Which One is In Front?
Gabriele and Vid both pointed me at the same time to this recent photo of buildings located somewhere in Egypt. With its original title “The building I thought was in front is actually behind the other one“, question I’m about to ask comes naturally – so which one do you think is actually standing in front of the other? Who knows, perhaps there are some of our Egyptian friends among us, who can confirm our findings!

Baby Shapes Puzzle
This is the second shapes puzzle that I’ve made. This one is made from cherry. The first was hard maple. I alternated the grain to give the light-dark colors of the long grain and end grain. The box has a lid that has to be opened to reveal the shapes pieces. Each piece can be removed with the dovetail shaped oak handle. The shapes are made from 1/8” plywood. Finished with oil based poly. My 8 month old loves to put the pieces in her mouth and pick up the box.
This is supposed to help develop fine motor skills by picking up each piece, and later on, putting the pieces back in the box. The alternating light and dark can teach patterns.
The plans were copied from the Making Toys that Teach book (I think).
