The Arabia (steamboat) was headed up the Missouri River in the fall of 1856 when she struck a tree snag and sank just north of Kansas City. Her cargo hold was full of 200 tons of supplies bound for general stores and pioneer settlements.
As the years passed, the river changed course and left the Arabia buried beneath a Kansas cornfield. Finally, in 1988 a group of modern-day adventurers uncovered the lost Arabia and her magnificent cargo.
They were amazed to find fine dishware, clothing, and even bottled food all preserved in remarkable condition. Their find has been called the King Tut's Tomb of the Missouri River.
So, if you're looking for an adventure your whole family will enjoy, you should go check the Arabia steamboat museum at Kansas City!
Also, authorities have turned up the efforts to idolize Kim Jong-Il's heir Kim Jong-Un.

Known for cycling down sand dunes and on slack lines,German-born world record holder Lutz Eichholz has done it again!
After setting the world record for this feat back in March, Eichholz cycled an even longer distance this past September.
Lutz managed to top his previous mark by over 3 feet, cycling a ridiculous 29 feet, 4 inches along the tops of several Goldstar Dark Lager bottles held in place by a wooden railing. Check it out below:
A group as small as 30 Japanese Giant Hornets can kill 30,000 honey bees!
The honey bees did not evolve around such a fearsome predator, so they don't have a natural defense against them, their stings are not strong enough to ward off the hornets.
The hornets can kill them at a speed of almost 40 bees a minute. In the video below you can see 30 hornets taking down a colony of 30,000 honey bees.
They did it in under 3 hours. So why do they do this? To butcher and kill the bee larvae to use as an energy source!
IKEA stores are designed like a maze in order to prevent customers from leaving.
The theory behind the design is: The longer a customer is inside the store and the more furniture they see, the more items they are inclined to buy.
This layout is so confusing that oftentimes shoppers make purchases simply because they are afraid they may never find their way back to the item!
A study at a store location in Kent, England showed that patrons spent an average of 3 hours inside the store, with a significant number remaining for as long a 8 hours!
IKEA is quick to deny any intention to purposely bewilder it's customers, citing shortcuts within the facility (built primarily due to fire code), but the store's exits still are not very easy to find.

In a bar fight, it's more effective to use an intact beer bottle as a weapon instead of trying to break it to use it as a knife like they do in the movies.
In fact, the bottles are a lot harder to break than you would think. It takes an impact of 40 Joules to break an empty beer bottle.
It takes considerably less energy to fracture a human skull than it does to break a bottle.
Therefore, a beer bottle could be used to cause a skull fracture without even breaking!
Strangely enough, a full beer bottle will shatter with only 30 Joules of impact energy applied to it.

The letter j's swash was just an embellishment on I. The two would be used interchangeably. This explains the 'j' in the word hallelujah.
With the introduction of the Roman numeric system, j was also used to punctuate a series of one's, like xiij for the number 13.
It seemed that 'j' would forever be doomed to life as a fancy 'I' until 1524 when an Italian Renaissance grammarian Gian Giorgio Trissino distinguished the two sounds.
He introduced the soft 'j' sound, as in "jam." For this, Trissino was named father of the letter "j". Yet ironically, his name contains 5 I's and no j's.
