Today, the average American watches close to four hours of TV each day. Based on this, by age 65, the average U.S. Citizen will have spent nearly 9, nonstop, 24 hour-a-day years glued to "the tube."
TV is something everyone in the household enjoys, even kids, and most surprisingly is that most kids prefer watching TV than spending time with their dads!
54% of 4-6 year-olds who, when asked to choose between watching TV and spending time with their fathers, said they would prefer to watch television.
Parents might want to try to find a way to spend quality time with their kids.

The city of London decided to put that statue in Trafalgar Square, one of London's most well-known tourist attractions.
There was only one problem: George Washington had publicly said that he would never set foot on English soil. Erecting a statue of his likeness on English soil would've violated his desires.
Instead, Virginia sent a bunch of American soil along with the statue.
The 'English' soil was replaced with this 'American' soil, and the statue rested on top of it.
If you're not familiar with Trafalgar Square, it's one of Central London's major tourist attractions and public squares.
The square was built to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar, and displays monuments in honor of many British Naval heroes, and other pieces of contemporary art.

The stress is so bad that they are sent for a psychiatric evaluation after show is done. And not only that, these contestants need to be pampered after so much stress, and that is why they are sent to a “beautiful house”.
It’s basically a spa; they get back rubs, eat and get pampered… A LOT. Some contestants call it decompression before you go back into society. The show can be so stressful that Gordon Ramsey even has bodyguards on set to prevent incidents.
Among the things contestants are required to do is disconnect from the outside world. Computers, personal electronics, phones or even newspapers are not allowed while the show is being filmed.

I had some requests for a couple of Christmas gifts. The wine balancers are a big hit, these are hard maple with a walnut strip. The rabous (sp?) hot plates are mostly cherry, and some hard maple. And the puzzle pieces cutting board / hors d’oeuvre – wine glass holders are also hard maple and a strip of walnut. The hot plates are finished with straight mineral oil, everything else is a mix of bee’s wax and mineral oil.

Discovered in the Ecuadorian rainforest by a group of Yale student researchers led by Scott Strobel, it's the first fungus species that is able to survive exclusively on polyurethane.
That's the material used to make garden hoses, furniture, disposable spoons, etc.
Not only is this a scientific breakthrough, but also an environmental one. While polyurethane is easy to produce, durable, and cheap, we have no way of recycling it.
However, the fungus is able to consume polyurethane in anaerobic conditions. Aka: The conditions found in the bottom of landfills.
This makes them the prime candidates for bioremediation projects.

There are officially two recognized species of Amazon river dolphins. They're part of the folklore of the people who live around them.
Local folklore speaks of 'encantados,' shapeshifters who look like dolphins by day, but spend their nights seducing people and having illegitimate children with humans.
Deforestation and other human made natural disasters are endangering the pink dolphin, so it's important for everyone to be aware that we're endangering the life of such an awesome creature.
