In the hit television show "Seinfeld," Monk's Cafe is a fixture.
Numerous scenes are shot in the restaurant whose interior is a soundstage but whose exterior is the real Tom's Restaurant on the corner of 112th Street and Broadway.
The show's character almost always sit in the second booth at Monk's Cafe. This leave the first booth open for....anyone who wants to pay for it. The chance to sit in the booth was auctioned off throughout the series.
Fans could bid on the booth and if they won, they would get to be included in a Seinfeld scene, however minimally. The money from the auction would then be donated to charity.
