The Law of War allows soldiers to wear enemy uniforms, but not to engage in combat while wearing it!

The Law of War allows soldiers to wear enemy uniforms, but not to engage in combat while wearing it!

The act of war is barbaric. Setting out to kill mass amounts of people goes against all that we know to be right. You would expect that such a divergence from humanity wouldn't have any rules.

There are, however, official laws of war. These are part of international public law and govern the justifications for and conduct of war.

One such rule has to do with uniforms, specifically the enemy's uniform. A soldier is allowed to impersonate their enemy by wearing their uniform (or perhaps they just need some proper clothing).

However, the soldier cannot fight while wearing his enemy's uniform. The soldier cannot take hostages while wearing this foreign uniform either. Seems like a fine line.
