Benjamin Frankin once suggested that America's national symbol should be the majestic... turkey. Fortunately, we chose the bald eagle instead.

Bald eagles live primarily along waterways, nesting along the seashore, lakes, rivers and ponds. Native to all of North America, all the way from Alaska to Florida, bald eagles live primarily along the northwestern coast of the USA and Canada.

What you probably didn’t know is that they are very good swimmers. Sometimes an eagle will catch a fish in its talons that is too heavy for it to carry and will have to swim to shore with it to eat it.

Check the source if you want to see an eagle do a butterfly stroke!
