Anthony Hopkins says he's having the best time of his life now. However, back in the 1970s he had serious problems when it came to drinking. He didn’t know when to put the bottle down.

The legendary actor stopped drinking abruptly, on December 29, 1975, when he found himself in Arizona with no idea how he’d arrived. He joined Alcoholics Anonymous, and has attended meetings ever since.

He calls it the addiction of chaos and drama, and states that he would never want to go back to that life again.

He doesn’t want to generate any more crazy stories like that one, he just wants to move on with his life and keep being the legend that he is today.
