Dumbledore’s name translates into White Bumblebee! In what language?

Dumbledore’s name translates into White Bumblebee! In what language?

Not a lot of Harry Potter fans might know this, but Albus Dumbledore is a name that was carefully planned by J.K Rowling.

Albus means “white” in Latin. J.K. Rowling named him this because of his long white beard. Dumbledore is Old Enlgish for “bumblebee.” J.K. Rowling named him this because she imagined him walking through the halls of Hogwarts humming like a bumblebee.

In all, the name Albus Dumbledore means “white bumblebee.” It doesn’t really fit together, but on their own both names sound great.

J.K Rowling surely knew how to let her imagination flew in order to help her create the marvelous World of Harry Potter.
