Cops in Germany only shot 85 bullets. In an entire year.

Radically different from police ideologies in America, German police forces shoot only when absolutely necessary.

That is not to say that American cops pull their guns any chance they get, but statistically police violence is incredibly higher across the pond.

There is a famous case of an American 19 year old in 2012 who was killed after over 90 shots were unloaded in his direction.

To put that in perspective the annual sum of bullets fired in Germany was less than a single incident in America.

More specifically, of the 85 bullets fired in Germany, 49 were warning shots and 36 were aimed at criminals. Of the shots fired, only 15 injured the targets and 6 were killed.

When questioned on the lack of gunfire, Lorenz Caffier, a representative from the Christian Democratic Union, said, “Our police officers are not thugs in uniform.”
