Steve Jobs' childhood home is now a protected historical resource!

The Los Altos Historical Commission has just voted unanimously to name Steve Jobs’ childhood home as a “historic resource.”

What this designation means is that the commission thinks the property has enough historic value to be protected. This means that any renovation sought to the property needs to be cleared by the city council.

Steve Jobs’ sister, Patricia, is the current owner of the property.

The now-historic home was the first place of business for Apple. That’s where Jobs and Steve Wozniak built the first Apple Computer, the Apple I.
