Chuck Taylor All Stars, are canvas and rubber shoes produced by Converse. They were first produced in 1917 as the "All Star," Converse's attempt to capture the basketball shoe market.
Chuck Taylor, a basketball player and shoe salesman for Converse, improved the shoe's design and became the product's spokesperson in the 1920s.
These shoes have a special characteristic; Converse Chuck Taylors have fuzz on the soles so that they can be classified as slippers, which are subject to much lower U.S. Import tariffs than sneakers.
Therefore, if you are a big converse fan and own several pairs, you might have more slippers than shoes in your closet! At least you’ll always be comfortable while looking good.
