Scrap wood table

Scrap wood table

This was a table made from scraps and now is at my sisters house being used as a place to play games with my nephew. It was never meant to be an amazing table but I had some fun making it.

The top is 56 strips from an old oak pallet that I found. Many of them have termite holes and divots taken out of them. I mixed a batch of walnut sawdust and glue to fill holes/gaps, and then used a light wood filler to go over it again making a good mix of colors on top. It has general fish satin clear on top.

The legs/aprons are slot mortise and tenons from poplar strips, the legs are three strips glued up to get the thickness. Finished with general finish gel stain and satin clear.

I cheated on the bottom shelf as the slats are held on with pocket screws from underneath, the holes are filled and sanded but I still know they are there.
