Robert Downey Jr wasn't a household name until he starred in the comic book movie, Iron Man - where he is said to have played the perfect Tony Stark. For the first Iron Man film, Downey was given $500,000 for his role.

Because of the films sudden success and cult following, when the sequel was made a few years later, Downey made $10,000,000 for it!
