This puzzle is FINALLY finished – I started on this around a year ago and just finished it a few days back.
Not that this SHOULD have taken that long, but I always had “something better to do”. I think we all have projects like this, right?
First off, thanks go to Adrian Iredale for the idea to use Escher’s “Mosaic II” image as a jigsaw puzzle. Once you look at the image, it kind of begs to be a puzzle, eh?
The image was printed onto photo paper and then affixed to solid 1/4” Oak to be cut on the scrollsaw.
I used a Flying Dutchman brand puzzle blade and carefully cut apart the figures.
This is a VERY tricky puzzle to put back together without a reference card – surprisingly so. Just stare at Pic 1 for a while and see if you can find any pieces that would go together…......
Dimensions are around 11 inches “square”.
I don’t know why the photos turned out with such a purplish tint to them – they are in fact only shades of gray.
I still have to make some kind of container to hold these pieces – maybe one of Escher’s Boxes as a pattern?
Cheers!
