A black police officer faced charges for not investigating racial taunts against himself.

Const. Dameian Muirhead, 33, is charged with three counts of misconduct after ignoring racial comments directed at him. One of these comments included "I would love to see that guy hanging from a tree.”

After being called to a farm party, Constable Muirhead and a few other officers went to the site of the party. One of the partygoers filed a complaint saying that he [the partygoer] was being treated rudely by Muirhead. Muirhead also faces a neglect of duty charge for not responding or investigating to any racial slurs and comments made to him that night!

The partygoer who filed the complaint Rheal Duguay, 41, said that the officer was treating him unfairly. One of the instances where the officer was treating him unfairly involves an incident where Duguay's leather jacket falls to the ground and he tells officer Muirhead to "Pick up my (dirty word) jacket!” Naturally, Muirhead refused.
