Who is at the door ringing the bell while I am working

Have you ever heard the doorbell ring late at night, or during the day, stopped what you were doing to walk to the door to be confronted by a nosy neighbor, salesperson, or general pest? With today’s technology for less than $100 you can get a camera and a cheap T.V. and then see who is at the door. But why stop at just ignoring this invasion of your time. For those pesky phone calls we had answering machines that you could have any message you wanted on them. People that knew you laughed and left a message, some never listened but you could avoid those you did not want to answer. Then came along caller I.D. furthering this trend to ignore these pests.

Well why not an automated doorbell answering device. You hear the bell, check the camera, see it is an unwanted visitor and decide which message to send them via a speaker at the door. For myself I have a neighbor that comes at all hours of the night to ask for a smoke. Wanting to really get the shock and awe thing going to get the message across why not have some flashing lights, (green and yellow) a cheap alarm siren with a mechanical ROBOCOP like voice giving this message, “Warning visitor not recognized, turn around, put your head between your legs and kiss your &^# goodbye!” * Then a countdown tone beeping, for say ten seconds, with the lights going nuts and siren wailing and such. I called the Police and checked they do not consider my warning a threat, but did enjoy a good laugh. Also you cannot use red and blue lights but any other colors are acceptable.

Okay let the games begin.
