I have been chosen by the sane side (majority) of the forum to communicate to you our need to have a yearly Block Review. We have determined that most of the blocks occur during high stress, insane moments when discussing planes, saws, wood, etc that we would not have done had we taken a moment to contemplate the action of blocking our fellow LJ.
In fact, most of the members have confided to me that they don’t even remember why they blocked most of those that they have blocked. Now they’re confused as to whether or not to unblock the individual.
We can cover their confusion by mandating a Yearly Block Review. On Jan 1 all blocks are automatically rescinded and unblocked unless the blocker overtly and with fore thought reblocks the blocked. That way the fun and games can resume for another year of hurt feelings, meaness, and joy (you do realize that some LJ’s get joy out of blocking?).
We propose this be enacted immediately. The first block/unblock/reblock period to start immediately with the automated unblocking to commence on Jan 1, 2014. I speak for the majority of all LJ’s when I say we need this new feature on the website.
