Let’s start this weekend with a fun little optical illusion. Take a look at this image, and tell me what you see…
What’s on top of the column? Is it a hole or a pyramid? Kinda hard to tell, huh?
When you first look at this illusion, one or the other—a hole or pyramid—probably jumps out at you. When you look at it again and focus on it, you can probably see it switch to the other one, either a hole or pyramid, depending on what you saw the first time around. It does look like a pyramid, but when you really look at it, the angles and shadows also make it look like there’s a hole going down through the center of the column.
BUT… (There’s always a but, isn’t there??)
I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that there is no hole. This is a pyramid illusion, plain and simple, and I have proof! Can you see what I’m seeing? Why do I think this is a pyramid…?
This illusion is similar to the tunnel or pyramid illusion that we posted several years back, and nobody could seem to agree on what it really was!
