In 1982, “Lawn Chair Larry” took flight in a homemade airship which consisted of an ordinary patio chair attached to 45 helium-filled weather balloons. Armed with a pellet gun, he rose to over 15,000 feet, and enjoyed cold beer and sandwiches before making his miraculous descent.
