90% of clothes donated to U.S. charities are sold to textile…

90% of clothes donated to U.S. charities are sold to textile recyclers. 75% of THAT are recycled. 25% are sold on the street markets in Africa at about 500% mark-up. This partly crushes the African textile industries because they can’t make new clothes as cheap as cheap old American clothes.
