The painting “The Black fire I” by the American abstract expressionist Barnett Newman was sold for $84.2 million last week at Christie’s.
One could talk about daring flight of thought and innovation of the artist, his brilliant insights and amazing technique and elegance of lines, original color findings, and soft color transitions, and so on. But why do we need all these pathetic and useless words? Just imagine the number 84 million. This number describes the great masterpiece more than any words.
