During the Vietnam War, a US task force known as ‘Tiger Force’ routinely cut of the ears of its victims to make necklaces from them. It was an indigenous belief among the Vietnamese that to get into the afterlife one’s body needed to be intact. So these soldiers are not just desecrating bodies, but trapping their souls here on earth.
