1. Sword Swallowing originated over 4000 years ago in India. It required the practitioner to overcome automatic body reflexes to insert steel swords into the stomach.

2. In 2008 The Sword Swallowers Association Int’l (SSAI) founded World Sword Swallower’s Day. Ripley’s has co-sponsored the event since 2009.

3. Ripley’s has been home to Sword Swallowers for 80 years since 3 sword Swallowers performed at the original Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Chicago World’s Fair in 1933.

4. At just 15 years of age, Haley Hall is the world’s YOUNGEST Sword Swallower! She will perform alongside Sword Swallower veteran and SSAI president, Dan Meyer, at our St. Augustine Odditorium.

5. Thrill Kill Jill is the world’s FIRST PREGNANT SWORD SWALLOWER! Thrill Kill Jill and her husband Tyler Fire will be performing at our Baltimore Odditorium. Jill is seven months pregnant, but this isn’t her first rodeo. She was swallowing swords with her first pregnancy back in 2011.
When Jill isn’t swallowing swords or charming snakes, she plays mommy to two-year-old Hank Lightning, and one-year-old Duke Dynamite. For more on Jill and her family, visit their website.
