The U.S.P.S still has clerks to read the addresses on some letters. Yes, even in 2014.

Ever since the arrival of computers and technology, the Postal Service has been able to grow considerably along with many other companies and corporations.

Technology has helped us to communicate easier and find what we need much faster. Nowadays, you can search for something you want on eBay and the U.S Postal Service can have it on your doorstep the next day.

Although 95% of mail is now sorted by computers, the U.S. Postal Service still employs clerks to decipher addresses that are too messy for the computers to understand. These clerks are expected to process 1,000 letters an hour, and upwards of 20% of them quit within the first 5 weeks.
