Somehow, even with way too many projects running in the studio… somehow I agreed to make three bowling trophies. Just finished them a few minutes ago.. though I’d like to put more coats of poly on them, they are due in the morning.
I stenciled and hand carved the bowling teams logo into figured maple. I can’t really do simple… and they asked for simple trophies… but I got obsessed with making little bowling games. But what seduced me was the carving… I love to carve, but even this was a little crazy to accomplish in three days. My eyes and fingers hurt. LOL.
The pins and bowling ball (which I found, did not make myself) have magnets to hold them in place, but only enough grab to allow someone to flick the ball into the pins. Their company has this thing about “3”s and lower case “t”s so I stenciled them on.
