I had favorited KnotCurser's Diabolical Dice Puzzle when it was posted, but just finally got around to making one of my own. Not exceptionally difficult to make, but a lot of fun.
The blocks are soft maple from a tree we had taken down a couple years ago. Some of the wood was kept for use in the smoker, but a few pieces have found other uses in small projects. The pips are scrap walnut. Each block is approximately 1in square x 3in long. Finish was a good long soak in a 2:1 mix of mineral spirits and BLO.
This now sits on my desk just waiting to frustrate an unsuspecting sales rep or co-worker. No extra pips are present, so it is not exceptionally difficult to solve, but you do have to think a bit and it can get frustrating if you aren’t careful.
Thanks for looking.
