this is my second toybox, for my second daughter. it turned out great and was a blast to build. i used “premium pine” from home depot and glued each side (panel) together with an offset to allow each panel to slip into one another, much like a puzzle. i used red oak dowels to pin the panels together. there is also two strips of red oak on the lid. another great part of this box is the lid support. i used these on my first box as well.. but heres some advice, i have a second one that i will install in a few months, because the spring will wear out and not do its job properly.
