The US has only been debt-fee for one year of its entire history!

We might not celebrate it, but apparently Jan. 8, 1835 was the last time the United States had or came anywhere near a national debt of $0.

On Jan. 8, 1835, all the big political names in Washington gathered to celebrate what President Andrew Jackson had just accomplished. A senator rose to make the big announcement: 'Gentlemen ... The national debt ... Is PAID.'

That was the one time in U.S. History when the country was debt free. It lasted exactly one year. By 1837, the country would be in panic and headed into a massive depression.

Nowadays it seems we are plenty far away from that happening again.

This Little Girl Knows How The Dating Game Works

The key is to keep your expectations reasonable.

When this young man asked Ashely to be his girlfriend, the response he got back was more reasonable and mature than what almost anyone over the age of 20 would give you.

A teacher was accused of molesting a child. She defended herself saying she didn’t like to touch black kids!

A Houston teacher was charged with molesting a first grade girl, however, she denied the charges by claiming that she would never touch a black child.

The first grader reported that the teacher touched her vaginal area outside of her clothes. Supposedly, the first grader was not allowed to go out for lunch that day and the teacher held her inside the class room.

The teacher admitted to being racist and told the police that she doesn’t like the student and has little to no interaction with her.

The question here is, how smart/dumb you think she is by trying to escape charges by playing the racist card?

DNews: Media Consumption: How Much Is Too Much?

Today, we've got more than just TV to watch. Our phones, tablets, and computers all supply a seemingly endless amount of content, and the amount we're consuming is downright shocking. Laci Green explains how this is both a bad and a good thing.

An ancient Roman gladiator won 107 battles. The average was around 5!

An ancient Roman gladiator won 107 battles. The average was around 5!

Gladiators are one of those things we immediatly think of when we think of Ancient Rome. Gladiators originally fought during funerals and they grew in popularity from there.

Eventually it became a professional sport complete with managers. Galdiators were an interesting contradiction: they were slaves and prisoners of war, thus seen as the lowest of the low. However, they were also celebrities and even had fangirls.

Fame came at a heavy price. Most gladiators, fighting two or three times a year, probably died between the ages of 20 and 30 with somewhere from 5 to 34 fights to their names.

One gladiator, Asteropaeus, notched 107 victories, and exceptional gladiators fought on into their 40's and 50's, sometimes retiring as free men. But these were the exceptions.

When you are good at something, not even death can stop you.
